Purpose of this guide
This guide helps users identify and distinguish genuine HKDAP, a Hong Kong Monetary Authority (“HKMA”) regulated stablecoin, from unauthorised, unregulated coins that may appear similar to our purport to be associated with HKDAP (“Unregulated Coins”). This document is provided for general information purposes only and does not constitute investment advice, legal advice, or an offer or solicitation to acquire any digital assets from Anchorpoint or any of Anchorpoint’s affiliates.
Unregulated Coins Identified
Anchorpoint has recently identified the existence of various Unregulated Coins that purport to be, or to be associated with, HKDAP, whether through name, branding, representations, or other means. Such Unregulated Coins share one or more of the following characteristics.
1. Misleading Names or Symbols
Unregulated Coins may:
- use names, symbols, logos, or branding that are identical or confusingly similar to “HKDAP” –and/or any other Anchorpoint trademarks, trade names or branding; and/or
- adopt slight spelling variations, added characters, unofficial suffixes, or other modifications designed to create confusion or imply association with HKDAP.
2. Incorrect or Unauthorised Token Contract Address
- Unregulated Coins are typically issued from unauthorised smart contract addresses.
- Even if a coin’s name, logo, and technical characteristics appear identical to HKDAP, issuance from a different contract address means that the coin is not HKDAP.
Important reminders for users
- All genuine HKDAP tokens exist only within the official HKDAP smart contract. HKDAP has one official smart contract per each supported blockchain, detailed here.
- Users should independently verify the token contract address before transacting and refrain from any transaction where verification cannot be completed. Any token claiming to be HKDAP but issued from a different contract address is not HKDAP.
- HKDAP is issued and distributed only through authorised distributors appointed by Anchorpoint pursuant to the Stablecoin Ordinance (Cap. 656 of the Laws of Hong Kong). You may find the full list of authorised distributors of HKDAP on our website at full launch.
- Each HKDAP holder’s digital wallet address must be whitelisted by at least one of Anchorpoint’s authorised distributors to enable any transaction of HKDAP.
- Peer to peer transfers do not change the smart contract address of HKDAP.
Reservation of Rights
Anchorpoint expressly disclaims any association with, or responsibility for any Unregulated Coins. Anchorpoint reserves all rights, including the right to take such further actions as it considers appropriate, against any persons or entities involved in the creation, issuance, promotion, distribution, facilitation, or acceptance of the Unregulated Coins, to the fullest extent permitted under applicable laws and regulations.
Reporting Suspected Unregulated Coins
Users who encounter or suspect any Unregulated Coin claiming to be HKDAP are encouraged to remain vigilant and to take appropriate steps, including reporting such matters to the HKMA and the Hong Kong Police Force.

Any report made to Anchorpoint is separate from any report to the police or other competent authorities and should not be regarded as a substitute for such report. While Anchorpoint may review information received, it does not undertake to respond to, escalate, investigate, or otherwise take action in respect of every report.
